Petra Nesvačilová is an actor and director. She was born in the South Bohemian town of Tábor. She attended the Biskupské Gymnázium. At the age of 18, she successfully auditioned for the Na zábradlí theatre. After graduating from secondary school, she studied at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU), Department of Documentary Film, where her thesis was a film entitled Z Borotína až na Sněžku, which examines the premiership of the former Czech president Václav Klaus.

As a secondary school student, she won an award at the One World film festival in written reportage and photography.

At the age of 19, she appeared in the film Pusinky in the lead role of Vendula. Her work in the film was praised by Variety magazine, particularly the authenticity of her character.

During her studies at FAMU, her short films received a number of awards. Her first feature film, Zákon Helena, was nominated for a Czech Lion Award, the ARPA International Film Festival in Los Angeles, and the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, for which her second film was also nominated.

Petra acts in film, theatre, and television. As a director, she shoots films, spots, and clips. She also writes. Her first book is entitled Skutečná.

Forbes called her one of the most remarkable women on the Czech arts scene.
